Nubolo was born from a real necessity. The aim was to find a solution for a non resolved problem, to help society, to fulfill concrete dreams. Nubolo was born from a personal story: Isidre Esteve.
Isidre Esteve, Rally professional pilot, suffers a motorbike accident in 2007. Diagnosis was overwhelming: T7 and T8 vertebras fractures, he would not be able to walk again.
In spite of the accident Isidre decides he wants to continue his passion and starts competing again with a specially adapted car. Extremely difficult 2008 Dakar´s Competition conditions are responsible for serious pressure ulcers that force him to be hospitalized for months. During that time Isidre looked for existing solutions to go back to Rallies without suffering Pressure Ulcers. Unfortunately there was none.
Nubolo was born from this failed research process. Isidre Esteve decided that if there was no existing solution he would create one. With specialized teams from different fields of expertise (doctors, physiotherapists, engineers etc..) they created the smart cushion to help prevent Pressure Ulcers. It was a breathtaking new project to improve quality of life for people confined to bed or who sit in a chair or wheelchair for long periods of time.
Five years of hard work gave way to a first prototype of this new smart cushion. Isidre Esteve competed with the special cushion in 2017 Dakar. His state was studied every day by trained specialists and many tests were done to ensure the efficiency of this new solution. He completed this extremely hard competition without any pressure ulcers. This was the final proof he needed in order to share this product with the world.
Enters OKM Química Ortopédica. Spanish manufacturer with more than 17 years of experience in the orthopedic field, OKM started working on the commercialization of the smart cushion. OKM´s different specialized teams (medical, orthopedics, physiotherapists, engineers…) worked in transforming the smart cushion in a marketed product available to all interested users.
The result of all this hard work is Nubolo: the new smart cushion available very soon.
